Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is the Retraining Session/Conference only open to FBI National Academy Graduates?
FBI National Academy Retraining Sessions are normally restricted to graduates of the FBI National Academy. However, in view of the current global escalation of acts of terrorism, the FBI consider the information to be provided at the FBI Retraining Session should also be available to Senior Executive Officers of the Australian Defence Forces, Security Intelligence Organizations, Law Enforcement Agencies and other associated organizations directly involved in law enforcement in the Asia Pacific Region.

Can I attend for only one day?
The full conference includes three full days of sessions and various associated functions. However, delegates can also pay to attend either one or two conference days which will not include the associated activities. The conference day fee cost is set out in the registration information.

How do I register and pay?
You can pay by credit card or cheque. All payments must be in Australian Dollars. Please download a registration form and fill it out and either mail or fax it to the FBI Conference Committee, GPO Box 1440, Brisbane QLD 4001, Australia or Fax +61 7 32343 2100.

What is the cost of the conference?
A summary of the schedule of fees is outlined in the registration section of this website.

Is there a discount?
Discounts are available based on the timing of registrations. The sooner you register and pay, the cheaper the price. Please see registration section for details.

What is included?
The full three day conference price includes the gala dinner, cocktail parties, hospitality suites and conference pack. Single day rates are also available, but exclude the gala dinner and cocktail parties. The gala dinner is available at an additional cost. A partner pack is also available which includes the gala dinner, cocktail party and welcome pack.

How do I arrange my travel and accommodation?
Sunlover Holidays Groups and Conferences have been appointed official travel agent for the conference. Special discount accommodation and domestic airfares have been negotiated with Qantas Airlines and Conrad Jupiters Hotel. These can be accessed through Sunlover Holidays Groups and Conferences.

Can I stay at accommodation other than Conrad Jupiters?
Attractive accommodation rates have been negotiated with Conrad Jupiters Hotel, however other accommodation can be accessed through Sunlover Holidays Groups and Conferences. Alternatively, delegates may make their own travel and accommodation arrangements.

How can I become a sponsor or arrange a display at the Trade Exhibition?
If you are interested in becoming a conference sponsor and/or participating in the Exhibition, please contact Carillon Conference Management.

Are there any travel, accommodations and conference packages available?
No all-inclusive packages have been put together. The conference organisers are not involved in arranging any travel or accommodation. Sunlover Groups and Conferences have been appointed the official travel agent to the conference and can access a range of discounted travel and accommodation rates that have been negotiated with Qantas Airlines and accommodation venues

How should I arrange my travel and accommodations if I am an international delegate?
The conference organisers were unable to access any special international airline fares for international delegates. We recommend that you obtain the best possible deal through your local travel agent or airline company. To arrange accommodation and airport/hotel transfers, simply contact Sunlover Groups and Conferences who will perform this function.

Should I bring my spouse and/or family?
The Gold Coast is a world class tourist destination that caters to all interest and age groups. There is a diverse range of activities for spouses or the whole family in close proximity to the conference venue. A number of conference related social activities, which spouses can attend, have also been organised. A ‘Partner Pack’ has been put together for this purpose. Conference organisers strongly encourage delegates to bring spouses and their families.
