General Information

The 2007 Queensland Police Games incorporating Emergency Services (The Games) will mainly be hosted in the Redlands Shire (Bayside Brisbane). Some events will be held at the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Kingaroy and in and around Brisbane (see Sports Schedule).

Conditions of entry

Note: All employees of the Queensland Police Service who participate in the 2007 Queensland Police Games incorporating Emergency Services are required to participate in their own time and at their own expense.

Teams

Entries Open  19 July 2007
Entries Close  31 August 2007

Fees

All competitors are required to pay a registration fee of $25.00.  Each sport attracts an additional sport fee. Refer to each sport for details (eg Sport fee for Swimming is $8).

There are no fees for coordinators, assistant coordinators and non playing coaches.

Refunds

No refunds will be considered after 3 September 2007.  Participants wishing to claim a refund must email their request including details of cancelled sports, events and merchandise to the Games Manager prior to 3 September 2007. The decision of the Games Manager is final.

Receipts

Online: As soon as payment has been received an official receipt number will be attached to your online entry record. You may access this record by logging onto the Police Games Management website with your payroll number and password and selecting the “View/Review Registration Confirmation” option (QPS employees only).

Emergency Services and retired participants will receive an official receipt by post.

Injury and illness

In the event of any injury or illness occurring during competition, the Sport Coordinator for that sport is to be notified as soon as possible. The Sport Coordinator will ensure that relevant first aid is rendered and that any further medical assistance is facilitated.

Costs arising from an injury occurring as a result of participation in any Games event will be the responsibility of the injured participant. All participants in the 2007 Queensland Police Games incorporating Emergency Services are strongly advised to ensure they have suitable medical coverage.

Holding of sports

The minimum number of individuals or teams to hold a competition is at the discretion of the Games organisers. In the event that a sport is cancelled, those registered will be advised as the earliest opportunity with a full refund provided.

Uniforms

Participants in team events are encouraged to participate in matching team shirts. Team shirts/singlets are compulsory for some sports.  Contact your Sport Coordinator for uniform rules.

Medals

Gold, silver and bronze medals will be presented at the venues as soon as possible after the completion of an event. Some sports may provide additional awards. See sports for details.
