Cycling (Road Race)

The Queensland Police Credit Union Police & Emergency Services Games 2007 road cycling event was held at the Driver Training Complex on Mt. Cotton Road on Thursday 13th September 2007 on a magnificent Spring morning. In all 21 competitors turned up to the start line. The race was run over 10 x 3km laps of the training circuit which featured an undulating course for the riders. During the first couple of laps riders were feeling each other out and finally a pack of 8 settled down for the next three laps. McNaughton, Forbes, Hansson and Francis worked hard and broke away and rode together for the remaining 5 laps. It seemed a case of who would finish second after Tim McNaughton had too much in the legs and won clearly, the remaining places had to be decided by a photo finish as it was too close to call.   Cycling Image
