Lawn Bowls
We ended up having an absolute ball on Thursday, 13 September 2007 at the Manly Bowls Club for the 2007 Police Games – Lawn Bowls. As you are aware it ended up just being the four of us girls, so we all knew that we’d be guaranteed a medal, but we didn’t know what the colour was going to be.
We started at 9:30am with the Pairs Final (15 ends / 4 bowls). Kerrie Tregear and Colleen Bell –v- Angela Tetley and Karen Harry. Final Score 23 – 6 to TREGEAR/BELL.
Lunch was at 1:00pm – 1:30pm.
Then we went straight into a play off for the medals in the singles between Kerrie Tregear, Karen Harry and Angela Tetley. We only had until 2:45pm as one of the girls had to leave to pick up her daughter from school. So we just played until 2:45pm and the bowler with the most ends won would win the gold. Well it came down to the wire Karen Harry won the first three ends, then Kerrie Tregear won the next three, Angela Tetley one the next one and then Karen Harry won the last end. Harry 4, Tregear 3 and Tetley 1.
Medals were presented by Dennis KASPROWICZ, Board Member as follows:

This gold medal was presented due to the fact that the shot that Angela did, would make any professional bowler jealous. She played the perfect bowl, hitting the jack and following it through into the ditch, where her bowl and the kitty sat side by side. A couple of the club members committed on this bowl and decided that it was the PLAY OF THE DAY, as it could not be beaten.
A gold medal was also presented to Dennis KASPROWICZ, Board Member in appreciation of their hospitality and letting us play on their greens with such short notice and also to the umpires/markers Ross BELL and Colleen BELL (singles playoffs). A big thank you to staff at the Manly Bowls Club, Dennis KASPROWICZ (Board Member), Joe ROBERTS (Greenkeeper and Board Member) and Julie EHSMAN (Bar Staff) for their hospitality on the day as we were all made to feel very welcome. Joe ROBERTS (Greenkeeper) only charged us $4 each for the whole day, which we paid cash for on the day.
