The briefing will be held at the Spit Camping Grounds which is located in the town of Somerset. Camping is available at these camping grounds for the duration of the tournament.
OVERVIEW
The tournament will be a catch and release Bass fishing competition. Only lures and fly fishing is accepted, dead or alive baits will not be allowed. Cast and retrieve and trolling allowed.
A limit of 50 competitors will apply. All competitors must be able to produce a Stocked Impoundment Permit prior to the event.
These permits are available at the office at Somerset Dam Holiday Park for $7 for a week or on the Web at:
http://www.dpi.qld.gov.au/fishweb/10203.html
A boating permit must also be purchased to fish on Lake Somerset. Go to the following website for more information.

You will be allocated a total of three sessions. At the completion of each session, you will be required to weigh in your two biggest bass per session. An ‘In possession’ Bass limit of two per angler will apply. Smaller bass can be upgraded throughout the session to allow your biggest bass to be measured.
The overall winner will be the person with the most metres of Bass in total after the three sessions. First, second and third place medals will be awarded. Trophies will also be awarded for both the biggest Bass and the biggest Golden Perch of the Tournament.
There will be a briefing at 7pm on Wednesday the 5th September 2007. This briefing will be held at the Spit Camping grounds so it is advisable that competitors arrange their accommodation for Wednesday and Thursday nights at the Spit Camping grounds.
If you are a non-boater please do not register until it has been confirmed that you have a boat to fish from.
