Angling – Saltwater
WHEN: Sunday 11th BBQ Briefing Venue and Time TBA
Monday 12th starting 6am
Tuesday 13th starting 6am
Wednesday 14th starting 6am.
WHERE: The hideaway town of Poona is located on the mainland, opposite Fraser Island.
OVERVIEW:
We have identified an area of the Great Sandy Straits, excluding the designated protected areas, for the competition.
The competition will be run in three parts and will have a single species comp each day with Male, female and team winners each day and overall Champions at the completion of the competition.
The comp is NOT a kill comp but a catch and release comp. Competitors who wish to keep catches however may do so subject to bag limit restrictions.
Sunday will be a Welcome B-B-Q and briefing for the competition location and timing TBA
Monday’s competition runs from 06.00am to 05.00pm, whilst Wednesday’s competition runs from 06.00am to 3.00pm.
Subject to numbers, a BBQ/Drinks will be held at the completion of the competition Wednesday, all presentations will be held for category winners at this time.
A briefing in which personal details of both vessels and POB’s and contact numbers are obtained on the Sunday night and prior to the start of day one. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH SKIPPER TO ENSURE THE SEAWORTHINESS OF THEIR VESSELS AND THAT THEY ARE OPERATED WITHIN MARITIME REGULATIONS.
This competition is not restricted to boat owners and competitors are quite welcome to fish from the many banks in and around the Poonah area.
