On Saturday September 8 - 2007 we will host our annual Biathlon and Iron Man competition. This course will be made / designed by the Queensland Police Service as they are the host agency. The course will be predetermined and will be set up on Friday 7 September. The course is usually around 4 km long and throughout the course we will have numerous obstacles and agility exercises for both the member and dog to complete. Most of this equipment will be set up around the oval where there will be ample viewing for spectators. All competitors are given a safety brief and a walk around the course on the day. Runners are dispatched normally every 2 minutes with the first runner hopefully kick off around 0700hrs.

At the completion of this event there will be an Ironman event. The Ironman event normally attracts fewer competitors and is only a short course more designed to test the strength of the member rather than the dog. This event is light hearted with the member requiring to maybe drink a hot can of drink and eat a dry weet-bix etc. This course normally takes several minutes to complete and will more than likely be held in the centre of the oval.

Depending on the number of competitors, expected completion is around lunchtime or mid afternoon. Following the completion of the event, a BBQ. will be provided free of charge to members. Non members are welcome to purchase food and drink, Trophies will be awarded, and every participant receives a medallion for competing in the event as well as a piece of merchandise from the association. This event is only open to current dog handlers.
