Practical Investigative Interviewing and Statement Taking Symposium 3

8 - 9 September, 2009

Owing to the success of the Practical Investigative Interviewing and Statement Taking Symposiums on 5 – 6 May and 24-25 June 2009, and the demand for a further symposium, the Fraud and Corporate Crime Group, State Crime Operations Command, Queensland Police Service is proudly hosting Practical Investigative Interviewing and Statement Taking Symposium (PIAST) No.3 at the Holiday Inn, Brisbane on 8th and 9th September 2009.

The purpose of this Symposium is to build the interveiwing and statement taking capacity of orgaisations in both public and provate sectors through:

  • Achieving high levles of interviewing techniques and admissibility;
  • Providing examples of good interviewing and statement taking techniques; and
  • Real life secnarios with practical sessions on interveiwing of witnesses/suspects and statement taking.

Day 1. Investigative Interviewing Theory for compliant witness/suspect

        Real life scenario
        Compliant Interview Practical
        Demonstration of Compliant Interview
        Statement taking theory/practical with multiple facilitators

Day 2. Investigative Interviewing Theory for non-compliant witness/suspect

        Real life scenario
        Non-compliant interview practical
        Live demonstration of non-compliant interview
        Mock court practical

Cost is $660.00 (GST inclusive) - Payment by cheque only - Cheques made payable to Queesland Police Service.
