Detective Senior Constable Rod SHELTON

Queensland Police Service
Fraud and Corporate Crime Group, Brisbane

Rod Joined the Queensland Police Service in 1994 after being a teacher for 17 years. He has a Diploma of Teaching, a Bachelor of Education, a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment and an Advanced Diploma in Investigative Skills.

Since joining the QPS, Rod has served in general duties in Ipswich and Goodna until 1998 when he commenced duty as an investigator at the State Crime Operations in Brisbane.

Rod has served in the Drug Squad, Child Abuse Unit, the Organised Crime Unit and Property Crime Squad and has now served in the Fraud and Corporate Crime Group for 9 years as a Detective.

Rod now specialises in fraud prevention and also facilitates both internal QPS and external courses such as Economic Crime Investigations and Investigative Interviewing. He speaks to a large number of community groups and delivers presentations at international and local professional forums on the topic of Identity Fraud and Scams.
