$250,000 REWARD

REWARD:
The Minister for Police has approved a reward of $250,000 be offered for information which leads to the apprehension and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Hugo Benscher at Paradise Point on or about 21 June 1992.

INDEMNITY FROM PROSECUTION:
In addition, an appropriate indemnity from prosecution will be recommended for any accomplice, not being the person who actually committed the crime, who first gives such information.

The allocation of the $250,000 reward will be at the sole discretion of the Commissioner of the Police Service.

CIRCUMSTANCES:
At about 8.00 am on Sunday 21 June 1992, the body of Hugo Benscher, 89 years of age, was located in his dwelling located at 13 Paterson Place, Paradise Point. The dwelling was a canal front home. Investigations have identified the time of Mr Benscher's death to be between 8.30pm Saturday 20 June 1992 and 8.00am 21 June 1992. Entry by the offender/s was gained by an unlocked rear door. Mr Benscher died as a result of injuries sustained during the incident. The bedroom area of Mr Benscher's home had been ransacked.
