INFORMATION SOUGHT REGARDING THE CIRCUMSTANCES LEADING TO THE DEATH OF ANGELA MAREE MEALING AT CAIRNS

REWARD:
The Minister for Police and Corrective Services has approved a reward of up to $250 000 be offered for information which leads to the apprehension and conviction of the person or persons who may have been directly involved in assisting, or causing, the death of Angela Maree Mealing at Cairns on or about 2 April 2000.

INDEMNITY FROM PROSECUTION:
In addition, an appropriate indemnity from the prosecution (within Queensland) may be recommended for any accomplice who first gives such information. The determination of whether to grant indemnity from prosecution will be wholly, and without restriction, at the discretion of the Commissioner.

Any distribution or allocation of the $250 000 reward will be wholly, and without restriction, at the discretion of the Commissioner.

CIRCUMSTANCES:
The last known sighting of Angela Maree Mealing was on 1 April 2000 in Cairns. On the 15 May 2000, Ms Mealing’s remains were located in a decomposed state at Behana Creek, near Cairns. The precise events after Ms Mealing was last seen on 1 April 2000 are unknown and no conclusive evidence exists explaining her death.
