REWARD:
The Minister for Police and Corrective Services has approved a reward of $250,000 be offered for information which leads to the apprehension and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Herbert Edward MURRAY at Bowen on 12 November 1997.

INDEMNITY FROM PROSECUTION:
In addition, an appropriate indemnity from prosecution will be recommended for any accomplice, not being the person who actually committed the crime, who first gives such information.

The allocation of the $250,000 reward will be at the sole discretion of the Commissioner of the Police Service.

CIRCUMSTANCES:
At about 7.20am on Thursday 13 November 1997 the body of Herbert Edward MURRAY was located at his residence at "Pennsfield" Station, East Euri Creek Road via Bowen. A Post Mortem revealed that death was the result of a single gun shot wound to the forehead from a .22 calibre firearm. A Holden Commodore Sedan, Reg. No. 945-BDT, which belonged to MURRAY was taken at the time of his murder and subsequently located in Townsville. Investigations revealed that this vehicle had been abandoned there since late 1997.
