CIRCUMSTANCES:
Klaudia Stanislavovna Pisligin, a widowed 82 year old Russian woman resided alone at 21 Ellis Street, Greenslopes, was last seen alive at this address at about 5.00pm on Monday, 23 September 1991. At about 6.00pm on Tuesday 24 September 1991 her body was found bound and gagged lying on the dining room floor of her residence. The body was clothed in pyjamas. A grey coloured PVC insulation duct tape was used to bound and gag the body. There was bruising around her neck, face and arms, consistent with a struggle taking place. The major cause of death was found to be asphyxiation from the gagging, however, the deceased also suffered a cardiac arrest. A rear window of the residence was found open and the internal flyscreen to that window was torn. This is believed to be the point of entry, however, there was no sign of ransacking and no property appeared to be stolen.
