Aims
The Armed Robbery Awareness Program aims to establish interactive partnerships with businesses which operate outside normal trading hours, particularly those which are considered 'soft targets'. It seeks to reduce the incidence of armed hold-up offences within the Metropolitan North Region by raising the level of informed awareness through the promotion of preventative strategies. The programme will also incorporate target focused patrols at premises identified as at risk of victimisation.
Objectives
(a) To establish interactive links with business houses which operate outside normal trading hours.
(b) To facilitate and conduct a minimum of four armed robbery seminars in each Division within the Region, by 30 October 2000.
(c) To encourage business houses, particularly those which are considered 'Soft Targets' to adopt preventative strategies which moderate the risk of victimisation.
(d) Implementation of intelligence driven patrols within each District, targeting at risk premises.
(e) Reduce the incidence of armed robbery offences within the Metropolitan North Region.
