Commemoration

The Queensland Police Service record of deceased officers is split into three separate lists. All of the officers on these lists died while on duty.

The Roll of Honour includes the names of officers who were either killed as a direct consequence of the actions of an offender or offenders, or who died while attempting to save a life.

The In Remembrance list includes the names of officers who died as a result of a traffic or industrial incident.

The Died on Active Service list remembers those officers who were killed during the First World War or who died soon after due to their wounds. These officers were on leave of absence from the Queensland Police Service.

National Police Memorial

The National Police Memorial pays tribute to Australian Police Officers who have been killed on duty or have died as a result of their duties since the advent of policing in Australia. It recognises the unique nature of police service and the dangers that police face in their daily pursuits. More information can be found at the official National Police Memorial web site.
