2007 – Using Digital Technologies to Enhance Policing Objectives
	The Queensland Police photographic section goes digital and acquires a digital minilab, associated workstations and data transfer links for acceptant of secure image storage and the ability to print. Digital imaging mean photos taken at any crime scene in Queensland can be processed and printed almost immediately.
	A 12 month trial safety hoods commences in Queensland watchhouses. The hoods are designed to inhibit those prisoners who spit at police officers.
	‘Comfit Live’ (Computer Facial Identification Technologies) allows the witness, investigating officer and the Comfit artist to work together in real-time to create an  image  which will speed up the cycle and allow more accurate recollection of a potential suspect.
	The Live-scan fingerprint scanning system is successfully trialled and rolled out across the state.
	There are 9902 sworn staff (24.2% females) and 3440 staff members (as of 30 June 2007).
2008 – Addressing the challenges of Queensland’s growing complexity and diversity
	The first Mobile Police Facility is launched which can be deployed during search and rescue operations, natural disasters and at major crime scenes and enhance the ability to respond to both planned and un planned events.
	Operation Achilles concludes after more than 2 years of investigation resulting in the simultaneous execution of warrants across the world and the arrests of child sex offenders in Australia, the United States, Germany and the United kingdom.
	An innovative One Punch Can Kill campaign is launched to reduce youth violence
	New generation speed camera vehicles are introduced
	A successful trial of unmarked Q-cars is undertaken. The aim of Q-cars is to target serial and dangerous traffic offenders where other conventional traffic enforcement strategies may not be effective.
	There are 10 237 sworn staff (25.1% females) and 3711 staff members (as of 30 June 2008).
