Information Management Division

The Information Management Division provides technical and professional support for police throughout the State through the provision of information systems and services, as well as providing specific services to authorised agencies and members of the public.

The Information Management Division comprises of the following: Information Planning Branch, Information Systems Branch, Information Resource Centre, Police Information Centre, and Information Security Section

Information Planning Branch is responsible for providing strategic focus through the development, review and improvement of information management and technology to support policing, including:

Information Systems Branch (ISB) is responsible for the provision, development and operation of corporate Information and Communications Technology (ICT), and its associated infrastructure, for the Queensland Police Service.

Responsibility for the overall operations of ISB and the data network that links QPS sites to the central computer system rests with the Manager, ISB, while the following sections have specific functions:

Employment opportunities are available within these sections to help the Branch deliver computer services to the QPS.

Information Resource Centre is responsible the provision of client-oriented information services with the use of statistical, geographical, library and management information. This is achieved through the following services:

Police Information Centre (PIC) provides the following range of information and services to police officers, members of the public, government agencies and external organisations:
