Public Servant positions
The QPS also employs some 4,000 public servants in administrative and specialist roles to assist in the delivery of policing services.
Vacancies for these non-sworn positions within the QPS are advertised on the Queensland Government Smart jobs and careers website, www.jobs.qld.gov.au

Police Liaison OfficersPolice Liaison Officers are employed by the Queensland Police Service to establish and maintain a positive rapport between indigenous and ethnic communities and the Queensland Police Service.

Volunteers in Policing
Volunteers in Policing (VIPs) is a Queensland Police Service (QPS) initiative created to encourage community participation in local policing services. Launched in 1997, the programme aims to enhance community service delivery by forging strong working partnerships between police and the people it serves. For example, in many police divisions Volunteers in Policing provide much needed follow up support to victims of crime, particularly residents who have been victims of property crime.
