Commitment to Recruitment
The Queensland Police Service (QPS) is committed to increasing the number of police officers in Queensland.
Generally, the QPS is appointing approximately 88 recruits to the Queensland Police Service Academy, Brisbane per intake. Intakes range from five to six intakes per year depending on intake programming. Traditionally, there are three smaller intakes of approximately 42 recruits appointed to the Queensland Police Service Academy, Townsville over a two year cycle. Please note that the number of intakes and recruit numbers may vary due to staffing requirements at the time.
