Opportunities for Promotion

There are exciting career opportunities for those officers who seek promotion. The Queensland Police Service (QPS) offers numerous internal education and training opportunities for the professional development of police officers. This training is often formally accredited and directly assists with promotional opportunities.

The QPS recognises relevant prior studies and qualifications for appropriate internal courses. For example, two significant education and training programs, the Constable Development Program and the Management Development Program, have been recognised by tertiary institutions as being at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, respectively.
