Stage 3: Selection Committee

The Recruit Selection Committee is comprised of members from the:
- Human Resource Development Branch (chair)
- Recruiting Section
- Equity and Diversity Unit
- Ethical Standards Command
- Community.
The Selection Committee is responsible for assessing recruit applicants and making recommendations to the Manager, Human Resources Development Branch (HRDB). The Manager of HRDB is the delegated officer who makes the decision as to whether to appoint an applicant as a police recruit.
The selection committee is the final stage of the selection process.
You will not be present during this part of the process. Successful completion of all or any part of the selection process does not guarantee that you will be selected or appointed as a police recruit. A limited number of positions are available for each recruit intake and appointments are made on the basis of merit. Therefore it is in your best interest to complete all aspects of Stage 1 and Stage 2 to the best of your ability.
The assessment measures used by the selection committee for all selection criteria are described in the Recruit Assessment Information (
250 KB) booklet.
Notification of appointment
If an offer of appointment is made, you will be notified in writing of the committee's decision approximately one month before the commencement of an intake. This should provide sufficient time for you to notify your current employer and make preparations to commence duties at the Queensland Police Service Academy. Detailed joining instructions relating to conditions of employment and the recruit training program will be provided once you have accepted the offer of appointment.
Advice to unsuccessful applicants
If you have been unsuccessful, you will be notified in writing as soon as possible after selections have been made. You are encouraged to obtain feedback about your performance from POLICE RECRUITING.Last Updated: 10/07/2008
