  • Make sure that you are safe
  • Tell a person that you trust
  • Speak to your doctor
  • Speak to a counsellor
  • Write down everything you can remember about the sexual assault / rape including :
    1. The circumstance leading up to the assault
    2. What actually happened during the assault
    3. Where did the assault happen?
    4. Who was there?
    5. Who you told?

You may not want to speak to police or anyone else about what has occurred but you may change your mind at a later date.  If you have this information documented then it can greatly assist police later if an investigation is commenced.
