People with disabilities

People with disabilities often experience domestic violence.

This violence or abuse may be directed at either males or females, by partners, spouses, family members or carers.

There is help available to any person experiencing violence or abuse through their local police station, or in emergencies, by calling Triple Zero (000).

Violence or abuse should not be tolerated.

Women with a disability experiencing domestic violence can refer to the Women With Disabilities Australia website.

Alternatively, any person with a disability, affected by domestic or family violence may seek the assistance of one of many advocacy groups throughout Queensland.
