Step FourQueensland

You have determined that the offender lives in Queensland.

In order to make a complaint to the Queensland Police you are required to download and complete the following two documents:

  1. Complete an Official Police Statement (Official Police Statement|89088|application/msword 87 KB)
  2. Complete the Internet Auction Questionnaire (Internet Auction Questionnaire|45568|application/msword 44 KB)

NOTE: If you experience problems with accessing these documents, please contact the Computer Crime Investigation Unit on 07 3364 4131.

Upon completing the statement and the witness cover sheet you are required to email both documents to:

onlineauctionfraud@bigpond.com

In addition to emailing the above documents it is also requested that you email proof of having lodged a dispute with the relevant internet auction provider (for example, the copy of the email received acknowledging receipt of your complaint).

Upon receipt of your complaint, the Computer Crime Investigation Unit, Queensland Police Service will acknowledge your complaint with a return email and provide you with further advice.

Other Information:

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOUR COMPLAINT WILL NOT BE ACTIONED UNLESS YOU PROVIDE PROOF OF HAVING LODGED A DISPUTE WITH THE RELEVANT INTERNET AUCTION PROVIDER/WEBSITE.

If you were a victim of internet auction fraud on an auction site other than eBay (such as OZtion), the above statement is still appropriate to complete, just edit the statement to reflect the internet auction website you were using.

For evidentiary purposes it is extremely important that you keep the original emails in your email inbox until the investigation has been finalised.

If you require any assistance or you need some advice in relation to the completion of the statement or the form please contact the QPS Computer Crime Investigation Unit on 07 3364 4131.
