How Can I Help?
There are a number of activities alarm owners can undertake to assist police:
- regularly clean the outside of motion sensors;
- cover sensors with a bag and spray with surface spray to deter pests;
- ensure your contact details are up-to-date with your monitoring company;
- ensure all users know how to correctly use system;
- advise your monitoring company prior to testing your alarm;
- have an alarm technician check your alarm system if your are experiencing false activations;
- instruct your monitoring company to only advise police of multiple activations of intruder alarms;
- ensure hold-up buttons, pendants, duress buttons and panic buttons are not placed in a location that allows them to be activated accidentally.
