Being A Member
Being a Member of a Neighbourhood Watch
Participation in the programme is really quite simple. As a NHW member you should try to follow the guide-lines below:
- Take simple steps to improve household security - while you are at home and away
- Watch out for one another's property and take a little more care for your own neighbourhood
- Exchange information with neighbours and police on suspicious activities
- Keep an eye on public facilities such as public telephones, park equipment, bus shelters, etc. and report the activities of vandals
- Distribute the Neighbourhood Watch Newsletter and pass on messages to other Neighbourhood Watch participants
- Attend a meeting to discuss matters of community or local interest and perhaps spend a little time discussing matters to reduce local crime rates
- Engrave and photograph property
- Affix Neighbourhood Watch plaques to letterboxes
