Being a Member of a Neighbourhood Watch

Participation in the programme is really quite simple. As a NHW member you should try to follow the guide-lines below:

Take simple steps to improve household security - while you are at home and away
Watch out for one another's property and take a little more care for your own neighbourhood
Exchange information with neighbours and police on suspicious activities
Keep an eye on public facilities such as public telephones, park equipment, bus shelters, etc. and report the activities of vandals
Distribute the Neighbourhood Watch Newsletter and pass on messages to other Neighbourhood Watch participants
Attend a meeting to discuss matters of community or local interest and perhaps spend a little time discussing matters to reduce local crime rates
Engrave and photograph property
Affix Neighbourhood Watch plaques to letterboxes
