Roles And Responsibilities
Roles and Responsibilities
The objectives of the Neighbourhood Police Beat program are achieved through:
- A residential or non-residential establishment that generally has a major focus on a residential area rather than a commercial area - focusing on individual communities rather than individual shopping centres or business districts which are already serviced by Police Beat Shopfronts;
- Concentrating on monitoring calls for service and identifying and targeting problem areas;
- Focusing on responses that are implemented in cooperation with other agencies and the community;
- Establishing a beat area which is a relatively small geographical area, defined by calls for service data; and
- Staffing the Neighbourhood Police Beat by the same officer(s) who focus on taking individual responsibility for their area.
