Security Video Systems for Suspect Identification
This information sheet has been prepared to give an insight into issues related to the use of security video systems for suspect identification.
All Systems
Decide what you want from your surveillance system and tailor the system to suit your needs: is its primary purpose to identify possible offenders or to guard against staff theft? Rarely will placement of a single camera be able to effectively perform both tasks well.
Suppliers should provide you with training and ongoing technical support to ensure the full functionality of the system.
All surveillance systems consist of two main parts - the camera system and the recording system. The very best recording system can never make up for a poor camera set-up.
- The Camera System
- The Recording System (Tape-Based Systems)
- The Recording System (Digital Systems DVR)
