Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) is an internationally recognised program which helps to improve the quality of life within a neighbourhood by reducing crime and enhancing community safety.
It aims to help people protect themselves and their properties and to reduce the fear of crime by improving home security, encouraging greater vigilance and fostering a community spirit.
NHW has been operating in Queensland since 1988 and there are over 500 active NHW groups in Queensland. The Queensland Police Service supports Neighbourhood Watch Queensland by providing groups with relevant information and community safety strategies.
