Patrick William Cahill Unit, Herston
"The Mews" - Herston.
This residence is named in honour of Patrick William Cahill, one of the first Constables killed in the line of duty in Queensland. Power and Cahill were on gold escort near Clermont in 1867 when they died.
The residence was offficially opened in August 2005 by the Minister and have been extensively utilised by members of the QPS family since opening. The unit is situated at Herston, within walking distance of the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. Furnishings within this residence have been donated by members of the Queensland Police Service and members of the community.
