Stay Safe in the Water
Drowning in Australia is the fourth most common cause of 'accidental' death. It is estimated that 30 percent of all drowning deaths can be attributed to alcohol consumption. (Royal Life Saving Society Australia's Media Guide 2001-2002, National Drowning Report, p.13)
It is important that you make yourself familiar with water safety particularly beach topics relating to safely swimming between red and yellow flags and the dangers of marine stingers, rips and currents.
