On a working holiday

Queensland Police officers regularly assist officers from the Department of Immigration & Multicultural & Indigenous Affairs (DIMIA) with checking touring workers' visas.

DIMIA is keen to assist you with any inquiry to help you abide by the set conditions of your entry visa. DIMIA personnel can be contacted on 131 881 from anywhere in Australia or at their website, www.immigration.gov.au.

Walking around towns and cities

When walking around busy towns and city centres, be careful when crossing roads. As a pedestrian, the traffic closest to you should be approaching you from your right hand side. Before crossing the road, look to your right first, then left, then right again. It seems like common sense to most, but if you are used to traffic flowing the other way, it is easy to forget to look to the right first. Where available, use pedestrian crossings to cross the road safely. Top
