Summary
Protective Behaviours has a diversity of applications.It is currently used in schools and a wide range of community groups. The principles, themes and strategies of Protective Behaviours apply to people of all ages, cultural backgrounds and levels of ability. Everyone can use Protective Behaviours in all aspects of their life.
What can you do?
1. Find out more about the program by:
- Organising a Protective Behaviours presentation for your school or community group by contacting your local police 'Community Liaison Officer'.
- Obtaining Protective Behaviours literature and / or resource materials from the Protective Behaviours Consultancy Group (Qld) Inc.

- Undertaking an Introductory or Advanced Protective Behaviours course conducted by the Protective Behaviours Consultancy Group (Qld) Inc.
Note: If the Consultancy are unable to attend to your training requirements, Queensland Police Service qualified trainers may be available to facilitate training.
2. Internalise the themes and concepts by:
- Identifying and listening to your own early warning signs and developing strategies to feel safe again.
- Developing your own personal network, periodically reviewing network members to maintain suitability.

- Considering safe options in everyday decision making (e.g. identifying the safest way to cross the road, manage stress, or to deal with some form of abuse). Remember whilst we make decisions for ourselves, we dont have to make them by ourselves.
3. Promote Protective Behaviours by:
- Encouraging your local school or community group to participate in the Protective Behaviours program.
- Introducing the themes and concepts of Protective Behaviours to your children / students, friends and family through discussion and / or the use of appropriate literature or other resource materials.
