Miscellaneous licence
General Information
This licence may only be issued for a category E or category M weapons. (Section 25A of the Regulation tells us which Category M weapons can be licensed) Certain conditions apply. Also, a crossbow licence is deemed a miscellaneous licence.
A miscellaneous weapons licence may only be issued for:
- a category E weapon; or
- a category M weapon mentioned in Weapons Categories Regulation 1997, section 7A(g) or section 7A(i) of that regulation (a “martial arts weapon”); or
- a category M weapon mentioned in the Weapons Categories Regulation 1997, section 7A(h) or section 7A(l) (a “historical or military weapon”).
- a category R weapon mentioned in Weapons Categories Regulation 1997, section 8 (m) or section 8 (o) of that regulation (a "martial arts weapon").
A holder of a miscellaneous weapons licence must take reasonable precautions to ensure that weapons under the licence are not accessible to persons who are not lawfully entitled to physically possess the weapons.
