Security Licence/Further Information

Moving from Interstate – Applying for a security licence (Guards only)

To hold a Queensland security licence you will need to complete Form 1 - Application for a Licence and provide all the required information as well as safety course certificates from a Queensland Registered Training Organisation.  This is required regardless of whether you have a current Interstate security licence or have completed a security licence safety course interstate. 

You must also provide a copy of your Queensland Security Officer’s licence endorsed with Cash in Transit which is issued by Office of Fair Trading

Keeping registers

A security organisation must keep a security organisation register in the approved form and record in the register information about its and its employees’ possession or use of weapon. 

An individual who carries on business on their own account as a security guard must keep a register in the approved form (security guard’s register) and record in the register information about the individual’s possession or use of weapons.
