Weapons Licence Renewal
The Queensland Police Service is continuing the renewal process for licences issued under the Weapons Act 1990. Renewal application packages are being distributed to all licensees whose licences are due to expire in the near future. Applicants who have changed their address since the licence was issued should attend a Queensland Police Station and lodge a Form 4 'Change of Particulars.'
Your complete application must be lodged, with the prescribed fee, in person at your local police station.
Legislation requires that a licence renewal application must be lodged no later than the day before your licence expires.
APPLICATIONS LODGED ON OR AFTER THE EXPIRY DATE OF A LICENCE CANNOT BE APPROVED. Further InformationPlease note: you cannot renew an expired licence. Applications to renew expired licences will be rejected and you will be unlicensed. You will be required to lawfully dispose of all weapons registered to the expired licence. To possess and use the weapons again will require the lodgement and approval of a new application for a licence.

- Complete the Proof of Identity Declaration (Form 30) (

30 KB) - Complete the Attachment 5 (Genuine Reason) (
44 KB) or attach other 'genuine reason'. - Complete the Weapons List form(s), which is delivered with your weapons licence renewal application kit
STEP 3
LODGE YOUR APPLICATION IN PERSON AT YOUR LOCAL POLICE STATION NO LATER THAN THE DAY BEFORE YOUR LICENCE EXPIRES.
