Crime Stoppers Youth Challenge Queensland is a competition for students from Years 6-12 in schools and youth organisations such as Scouts, Guides, Cadets and PCYCs throughout Queensland. The topic for the 2009 challenge is Stop Youth Violence.

Crime Stoppers Youth Challenge Queensland is a collaborative program delivered by the Crime Stoppers Queensland Limited, Queensland Police Service, Queensland Ambulance Service, Department of Education Training and the Arts and the Matthew Stanley Foundation.
What do participants need to do?
Participants are encouraged to research the issues, the impact and consequences of youth violence from the perspective of the victim, the community and the offender. Working together in groups, or individually, participants interact with their local Crime Stoppers volunteers, police officers, ambulance officers and community groups to build their understanding of the work of Crime Stoppers and the responsibility of citizens to stop youth violence.
Students are asked to submit an entry focusing on stopping youth violence. Students can choose any form to submit their entries. For example students may wish to submit:
- Story
- Board game
- PowerPoint Presentation
- Play
Who can take part in the Youth Challenge?
Queensland school students from Years 6 to 12 in conjunction with either their school or youth organisations. Students who are home schooled in Queensland are also welcome to participate.

Curriculum Connections
Classroom teachers will be able to incorporate the Crime Stoppers Youth Challenge Queensland into their curriculum plans. Assessment tasks and teacher materials have been developed linking the Youth Challenge program to the QSA Senior Secondary Syllabuses and the QCARF Essentials Learnings and Standards.
What can we win by taking part in the Youth Challenge?
All participants will receive a certificate of participation.
Each regional category winner will receive prizes to the value of $100 per group or individual participant as well as a framed certificate for the school or youth organisation.
State award winning schools or youth organisations will receive either $2000, $1000 or $500 for Gold, Silver and Bronze awards respectively.
