Queensland Police-Citizens Youth Welfare Association
The Queensland Police-Citizens Youth Welfare Association (PCYC) now has over 60 years of service to the Queensland community. From the establishment of the first Branch at Lang Park to now having 46 Branches plus an Activity Centre in Bowen as part of the state-wide network. The PCYC also operates Bornhoffen as the Centre for Youth and Community Development located in the Gold Coast hinterland, and is heavily involved in the CAPE Project, progressively rolling out PCYC activities to remote indigenous communities in the Far North. PCYC stands as one of the states leading youth organisations.
The Queensland Police Service works in partnership with the PCYC to provide opportunities for the youth of Queensland. Currently there are more than 60 Queensland Police Service officers working with the PCYC to manage and coordinate the operations of the Association across the state. Police officers work with support from the community to deliver a wide range of targeted and diversified programs which cater for the individual needs of their local communities.
