How to Establish a Safety House Committee / Programme
Prior to commencing a Safety House Programme it is a requirement that the inquirers must contact the Safety House Association of Queensland Incorporated:-

- Read complete Safety House Manual
- Contact the Regional Committee (The State Office will advise if a Regional Committee is operating within the area).
- Conduct a survey through the School(s)
- Obtain maps and check on neighbouring borders
- Call a public meeting to form a Local Committee
- Advise the Safety House Association of Queensland Inc. of the meeting date and arrange for a representative from the Regional Committee or the Association to attend
- Give each member of the committee a copy of the complete Safety House manual to read
- Arrange funding through the School P & C Association, any local Service Clubs, Community Groups etc
- Affiliate with the Safety House Association of Queensland Inc. and supply all Local Committee details
- Upon receipt of the Affiliation Kit, study the entire contents, including the Constitution
- Issue ID Cards
- Commence interviewing respondants
- Committee screening of Safety House applicants and processing of application forms through the State Office and the Queensland Police Service
- Order all resources from the Safety House Association of Queensland State Office
- Arrange an Education Programme through the School, with the teachers, parents and local police
- Arrange local media coverage
- After receiving approval from the State Office, attach Safety House Plates, issue Procedure Cards to Safety Householders, erect School signs and map approved Safety Houses
- Launch the Programme
- Arrange monthly letterbox plate monitoring and three monthly personal "face to face" monitoring from within your Committee.
