Tribute to Senior Sergeant Perry IRWIN

The Queensland Police Service and the Queensland community have mourned the loss of Senior Sergeant Perry Irwin, Officer in Charge of Caboolture Station who tragically died on August 22.

Senior Sergeant Irwin was farewelled by a huge crowd of colleagues and community in a funeral service with full police honours.

Perry was a dedicated supporter of NHW and was the liaison officer for Banksia Beach (Bribie Island 3). The community of Banksia Beach would like to pay homage to Snr Sgt Irwin who helped police and residents work together to control crime in their area. Helene Collis, on behalf of the Bribie Island 3 NHW would like to acknowledge the genuine support and help that Perry gave them. '... Perry always listened patiently to complaints, and would discuss issues and problems and try to work on solutions to these problems. We are very grateful that our Watch had the pleasure to have been associated with such a dedicated, decent and humane police officer. Our deepest sympathy is extended to his wife Melissa and his four children at the tragic loss of their loved one'.
