Congratulations goes to the Area Coordinator of Albany Creek Rural 3, Marilyn Kunde who recently received the Centenary Medal for her service to the local environment and to NHW. After a marathon process to decide winners, and a two year wait 15,500 award recipients were named, including prominent celebrities Kieren Perkins, Grant Hackett and Cathy Freeman. Marilyn will be presented with her award, along with other dedicated Queenslanders at Government House.

Ferny Grove - What a Turnaround!

A lady from the Ferny Grove area decided that she had had just about enough of finding her letterbox beat-up and abused every Saturday morning. One Friday night she set up vigil for several long hours, until along strolled several youths. As they were about to go a round with her letterbox she threw a switch, catching them in the spotlight. Shouting that she had seen their faces and would report them to the Police these brave youths ran away, and haven't been seen since!

North Tamborine - A Marathon Effort ...

A vigilant North Tamborine neighbour observed two offenders smashing open a money tin at a road-side stall and promptly called the police and the owner, passing on information which enabled the Police to apprehend the offenders and recover the stolen cash. The offenders have now repaired the damage and will be subject to disciplinary action.
