Community Safety at Work

Our Community Safety trial areas around Queensland put on some great displays for Crime Prevention Week last October. Many reported a great turn out to the events, which included displays from the Police, Qld Ambulance and Fire services.

If you are looking for ideas for your next meeting or for a community day or event, consider consulting your Community Safety Kit which was distributed to every NHW area last April. This kit contains a wealth of information which may help your community deal with community safety awareness issues, as well as provide strategies to effectively deal with emergency situations.

Lectures and programs such as Chemical Awareness, Fire Fighting Fascination and Education, Preparing for Disaster for people with special needs, Road Awareness and Accident Prevention and Adopt a Paramedic are jut some of the programs available to speak at meetings and at schools in your area. Many of these programs are free of charge.

For further information refer to your Community Safety Kit or contact the Department of Emergency Services.
