Door Knock Appeals to Your Safety
The Queensland Cancer Fund Doorknock Appeal will be held in July this year. In the interest of helping residents clearly identify volunteer collectors, Queensland Cancer Fund volunteers can be clearly identified by an authorised purple and white sticker, worn on either their shirt or on the collection bag or receipt book.
When making a donation to any collector make sure you always check for authorised identification and receive a receipt, no matter how small your donation. If someone seems suspicious do not feel compelled to speak to them, or answer the door. Instead either call the organisation the person claims to represent to confirm their identification or if circumstances are appropriate contact your local police. Remember that you have the right to tell the caller you are not interested and to leave your property.
