Many Aussies celebrated our Australian history on January 26 with a BBQ, a beer or just enjoying the great Aussie weather.

Upper Mount Gravatt 18 had even more to celebrate this year, when they were awarded the ‘Community Group of the Year’ for the Mansfield Electorate Australia Day Awards. Member for Mansfield Phil Reeves presented the award to Area Coordinator Dennis Webb on behalf of the whole NHW team for their outstanding contributions to the community.

NHW areas from the Springwood division, including Slacks Creek 1, 11 and 12, and Springwood Police Beat were also presented with awards by local MP Barbara Stone.

These awards are an opportunity for local state MPs to recognise the outstanding work of citizens and community groups within their electorates. Keep up the good work NHW!
