From State Office
Plans are well underway for this years NHW State Rally. The event will be hosted by the Ipswich District and will be held on Saturday 15 October at the Ipswich Region Community Church, Ipswich. The facility has an auditorium with a capacity for 500 people, which will allow for a great environment. Whilst the agenda is yet to be finalised the event will be very visual and hands on and promises to continue the outstanding tradition of recent Rally’s. The Rally will also provide an opportunity to recognise the outstanding contribution that our NHW volunteers make to the safety of our community, culminating in the presentation of the ‘NHW Member of the Year’. So why not start organising a representative from your area so that the wealth of information can be passed on. Further information on the Rally will be posted to all NHW areas soon.
Speaking of information sharing, the NHW State Forum will be held this year to allow discussion on the direction of NHW and other matters of state importance. To allow greater access to this opportunity a series of smaller forums will be held in regional coastal centres, with state office staff attending each meeting. These meetings will be held between July 4-15 with a Brisbane forum held in August for the southeast corner. Your DCPC will advise your area of your local meeting in due course.
Finally state office would like to wish our Administrations Officer Bre O’Neill a happy send-off. Bre was recently promoted to a position in Queensland Libraries and her dedicated commitment to the NHW Program will be sadly missed. We wish her well in her new role.
