Egyptian Bus Crash Impacts Heavily on Mt Ommaney 5 NHW

News of the tragedy in Egypt on 10 January has sent shock waves through the Mt Ommaney community. Two members of the Mt Ommaney 5 NHW, Lou (Luciano) and Brigitta Prenner were with a group of Australians on a tour when one bus crashed, killing Lou and five others. Brigitta was one of the 26 injured.

Lou and Brigitta were part of the small group who regularly attend the local meetings. That they attended as a couple is indicative of most of their activities. They were very much a team.

Lou and Brigitta began attending NHW meetings soon after moving into the suburb some 8 years ago and have been actively involved in various activities and functions. Lou was one of the regular chefs at the annual Australia Day barbecue. Brigitta assisted with the newsletter by doing the photocopying and is a Block Co-ordinator.

Members of the Mt Ommaney 5 NHW said they will very much miss Lou’s smiling face and cheerful remarks and would like to acknowledge the valuable contribution he has made to our NHW over the years. “He was a very special man whose genial manner and positive attitude touched the hearts of many, as witnessed by the hundreds of people who attended his funeral. We wish Brigitta a speedy recovery and offer our friendship and support at this very sad time.”

The NHW community also extends our sympathies to Brigitta and Lou’s family for their loss. Lou was a respected member of his local NHW and his long standing commitment and support for Mt Ommaney 5 NHW was very much appreciated.
