Wurtulla West Works Wonders
The Wurtulla West NHW recently undertook a kerb side numbering project as a result difficulty in locating individual residences by emergency services vehicles. With financial support from their local councillor, a small band of twelve residents braved rather hot and humid conditions in October and November to number all 630 homes.
Watch Secretary Marion Costin said “The whole idea was to make it easier for people to locate houses in the area. There were a lot of houses without a house number and we felt this was a problem for emergency services and other community related groups such as Meals on Wheels and nursing services”.
The project, which was conducted at no cost to the residents has received amazing feedback, not only from the residents but also from organisations from outside the area.
Congratulations to Wurtulla West NHW for going that extra mile to make your area a safer place to live.
