How to Order NHW Street Signs

One way a NHW area can promote NHW in their local area is the installation of street signs. These signs advise residents of the existence of NHW band act as a deterrent to would be thieves.

To ensure signs are installed in accordance with local government regulations a formal process must be adhered to.  All NHW areas requesting the installation of their allocation of free street signs (3 large, 5 small), additional signs or replacement of damaged signs must write to their District Crime Prevention Coordinator (DCPC).

This letter needs to include the reason why the signs are being requested, a map indicating where the signs are to be placed and a cheque covering the cost of non free signs.  The DCPC will then contact the local council on your behalf to request approval and installation of the signs.  Once approval is obtained the DCPC will forward all paperwork to the NHW State Office who will forward the signs directly to council for installation.

This is the only process that can be used to have street signs installed and will ensure their installation in a timely manner. The current price for large street signs is $22.40 and small signs $12.10.  Large rural NHW signs are available at $25.40.
