Australasian Consumer Fraud Taskforce Survey 2007
The Office of Fair Trading has joined 17 government agencies to form the Australasian Consumer Fraud Taskforce whose aim is to work together to reduce the incidence and impact of frauds and scams, and to create a yearly co-ordinated information campaign to protect consumers from falling victim to scams.
From March 5 - March 31, 2007 the Taskforce worked to give Queenslanders simple but effective tips on how to protect themselves from scams.
The Taskforce wanted to know about any scams that you had received and how you responded to them. Gathering this information helps to improve the prevention, detection, investigation, and prosecution of scam offenders.

Incorporated Association laws took effect 15 June 2007
Friday 15 June 2007 marked a significant change for associations as this is the date the laws surrounding associations changed.Changes to the Associations Incorporation Act 1981 were made to reduce the financial and administrative pressure felt by small to medium size associations. There are several significant changes, including financial reporting requirements and public liability insurance requirements.
Fair Trading Minister Margaret Keech has written to all associations outlining the changes.
