4.2 Senior Executive Conference
The function of the Senior Executive Conference is to advise the Commissioner on strategic issues with respect to:
- Providing strategic focus and direction for the QPS regarding operational efficiency and effectiveness and medium to long-term planning;
- Ensuring cohesion, integration and coordination of the Service's strategic direction, especially with regard to the efficiency, effectiveness, equity and consistency of the provision of policing services to the Queensland community;
- Setting the direction for development, review and improvement of the Service's Strategic Plan, including –
• The program structure;
• Strategic planning processes;
• Appropriate program performance indicators; and
• The scope and conduct of program evaluations;
• Addressing strategic policy issues, including –
• Emerging issues of significance to the Service;
• Changing Service or government policy priorities;
• Information sharing on regional issues and priorities; and
• Identifying, prioritising, overviewing and determining the scope and conduct of Service policy and project evaluations; and
• Addressing issues relating to the management of the Service, including –
• Operational issues;
• Human resource management issues;
• Information management issues;
• Budget and financial resource management issues; and
• Physical resource management issues.
Meetings of the Senior Executive Conference are held approximately every three months.
Membership of the Senior Executive Conference consists of:
- Commissioner
- Deputy Commissioner (Specialist Operations)
- Deputy Commissioner (Regional Operations)
- Deputy Chief Executive (Resource Management)
- All Assistant Commissioners and Directors
- Senior Police Chaplains
Two representatives of the Women's Network.
